Expanding our CGI Rendering Capabilities
With Halloween approaching, we’re very excited to share some of the things we’ve been up to this October.
Additions & Upgrades
The studio gets an upgrade
This month we’re making large improvements to our Fractal CG server network.
As well as welcoming new render servers, we’ve also been busy upgrading our current line-up too! Most importantly, we’ve given our machines some TLC with a massive increase in RAM capacity. Doubling the memory specs of our key render nodes to allow us to work with more complex 3D data.
Why do we need so much processing power?
With the variety of digital content services Fractal CG provide, we are in constant need of powerful computers. Most importantly, our 3D rendering services require a vast amount of computing power and you can never have too much!
Our server network acts as one to generate complex 3D forms and calculate realistic ray-tracing algorithms for our computer generated scenes. Without it, we wouldn’t be able to create the realistic rendered images needed for architectural visualisation, animation and more; which require advanced material and light-ray simulation.
What are we going to do with it?
Not only will these recent improvements help us to provide our services faster and to a higher quality, they will also extend the range of content production we can offer to our clients.
We’re working hard to expand our animation services and interactive content (virtual reality), which are currently the biggest draw on our server network’s power.
We have a lot of exciting updates to come and cannot wait to share them with you!
